Proong Nee Gor Ruk Ter "Tomorrow, I’ll still love you”

<<CH5>>

Proong Nee Gor Ruk Ter (Pong Nawat and Aom Piyada)
English title: “Tomorrow, I’ll still love you”
Air days: Mon-Thurs
Genre: Drama/Romance
Date of commencement: November 2, 2009

Plot:

“Proong Nee Gor Ruk Ter (Tomorrow, I’ll still love you)” stars Aom Piyada and Pong Nawat as two lovers torn apart by murder. Pong’s crazy older sister murdered Aom’s sister because she believed Aom’s sister was having an affair with her husband played by James Ruengsak.

Well, isn’t this complicated. As I read the synopsis of “Aom” Piyada Akarasene’s latest lakorn with Pong Nawat, “Proong Nee Gor Ruk Ter (Tomorrow, I’ll still love you)”, I begin to wonder how are they gonna get back together. This definitely won’t be a ‘happily ever after’ type of lakorn.

At the beginning, Pong and Aom are lovers, they are about to get marry. Then tragedy strikes. Pong’s older sister played by Pin Kejmanee murders Aom’s older sister because she believes Aom’s sister and her husband played by James Ruengsak are having an affair. Complicated stuff. Naturally, after the killing, Pong and Aom break up.

Being me and having a strong relationship with my older brother, I don’t think I can handle associating myself with family members of the person who murdered my brother, no matter how ‘nice’ they are. It would be too emotionally draining. There is an intense/immense loyalty between two people who have grown up together, who have molded each other, who have fought and defended each other, and who are genetically linked. The sibling bond between my brother and I is very strong, his murder would be unforgivable. With that said, how will Aom and Pong’s relationship ever work out? If I was Aom’s character, I don’t think I can do it.

This lakorn will also have a gay love story between Oh Anuchit and “Fluke” Pachara Thammon aka Fluke: the Star 5. Interesting. Though both claim to be heterosexuals, both are believed to be gay by the Thai media. Oh Anuchit has admitted to having a girlfriend but still he can’t shake off the gay rumors. As for Fluke, he just looks like a girl and was raised by a man who looks like a woman. Bkkdreamer has more on that here. Because some people can’t separate lakorn from reality, Oh and Fluke will definitely be swarmed with ‘are you gay’ questions when this lakorn airs.

Sanaeha Ngern Tra "Money for Love"

<<CH3>>

Sanaeha Ngern Tra (Pat Napapa and Por Thrisadee)
English title: Money for Love
Air days: Mon-Tues.
Genre: Romance/Comedy
Date of commencement: Oct. 26, 2009

Plot:

There is not much to say about Pat Napapa and ‘Por’ Thrisadee Sahawong’s new lakorn, “Sanaeha Ngern Tra(Money for Love)”, it’s your typical slap and kiss lakorn with a stupid pra’ek who suffers from a prejudice against women (to him, they are all money hungry bores) and a nang’ek who comes from a pathetic, string me a sympathy violin score background. Her father was a total bastard who cheated on her mother. On one stormy/ rainy day when nang’ek was 10, her father brought his mistress over to the house, got into an argument with her mother and accused her mother of having an affair and nang’ek is the product of that affair. Since that day, her mother went insane. When ever it storms, her mother would verbally and physically abuse her. She blamed the whole incident on her daughter instead of her bastard husband. Nice one lady.

Don’t pity the nang’ek too much, when she grows up, all the main male characters will fall in love with her. In this lakorn, Pat is Farida or Fang, a feisty/intelligent young woman who is just unlucky in love and life. After graduating from college, Fang finds work at the Veerakij Company and meets Panutat (”Beam” Saranyoo Prachakrit), the son of Khun Aekatat (Chalit Fuengarom) who happens to be the co-owner of the Veerakij Company with Siwapan (Por Thrisadee).

Panutat and Fang fall in love and decide to get engage. Siwapan is not too keen on the idea because to him all women are money hungry bores who can be easily brought. Fang is of the middle class and Panutat is part of the super rich, it can’t possibly be sincere. Another thing, his sister Siwaporn (May Fueng-Arom) is sleeping with Panutat and wants Panutat to break up with Fang. Siwaporn would feed false/ negative things about Fang to Siwapan. Because he is hearing this from his sister, he believes it.

Like Weir in ‘Love Rotation”, Por in this lakorn is a meddling older brother who loves his sister so much he would marry the woman who is his sister’s love competitor. He marries her for revenge, impregnates her, and then realizes he loves her. It’s such a lakorn.

The plot is simple– humble and do-gooder bodyguard Akkanee (Tle) falls in love with the spoiled daughter of a very wealthy man, Paramee (Pancake) as he protects her from Chain (Gun), her fiance, a man who has malicious intent on her family. Simple enough. Gun as Chain is a little gigolo in this lakorn playing himself to all the ladies in the series from Paramee to her sister and to other various nang’rais.

Chain is out for revenge, he believes that Det (Piroj Sangwariboot), Paramee’s father, caused his father’s death and stole his father’s company in a cold-hearted manner. He wants payback, return of his father’s company, money, prestige, and happiness. The first part of his revenge is seducing Det’s two daughters with the intention of marrying one of them and using them to take over Det’s company.

Chain pursues Det’s youngest daughter Amika (Stephanie Lerce) first but stops when she falls ill with SLE (Systemic Lupus Erthematosus). Amika is weak, doesn’t finish school, and can not take part in managing the family’s company, so Chain moves on to sister number 2, the eldest sister Paramee, he moves quick and easily won her heart. Det sees through Chain’s scoundrel plans and hires Akkanee to babysit Paramee.
